Parking is strictly for registered guests only. Please do not share our property’s gate code with people who are not registered guests. There is ample on-street parking in our neighborhood, including on St. Philip Street, Rampart Street, and around Armstrong Park (it’s the closest free parking to the French Quarter!).

Although we do not always have staff available to greet guests after 5 p.m., we e-mail guests arriving later clear, detailed directions for self check-in. If your plane lands late at night or you arrive in New Orleans after 5 p.m., please let us know. Please keep this check-in e-mail handy for your arrival! We also list an emergency contact number on our gate call box, should any unforeseen problems occur.
If you check in late, please stop by the lobby in the morning so that we can introduce the staff and the property, and help you plan your stay in New Orleans.

What is Jazz Quarters’ minimum stay?

Is it okay if our friends bring a blow-up mattress and share our room? Do you have rollaway beds or cots available?

C’mon, now. As much as we love a good sleepover, each of our cottages and suites have a maximum number of allowed guests. We are required to have an accurate and complete list of all guests staying on our property for security and strict fire code safety reasons. Most of our rooms and suites have a 2-guest limit, but our two-bedroom cottages—Marsalis Cottage and Connick Cottage—can sleep up to 4 guests. We take this policy (and your safety as our guest) very seriously. We will assess additional fees and/or revoke guest privileges if this policy is violated.

Does Jazz Quarters have WiFi?

Yes. Free WiFi is available throughout our property.

Does my room have a refrigerator?

Do all suites at Jazz Quarters have private bathrooms?

Yes, all cottages and suites have private, en suite bathrooms. There are no shared bathrooms, entrances, or hallways in our boutique hotel. Our guests enjoy complete privacy in suites or cottages at Jazz Quarters.

Does Jazz Quarters have a pool?

We do not have a pool on-site—however! There are many places around town where locals (and travelers) can go for a dip for free, or a nominal entry fee. Ask Loraine or Robert for a list of nearby gyms, hotels, and locations with pools open to the public.

Does Jazz Quarters have a gym?

We are a small, historic property with no on-site gym … but excellent proximity to walker/runner-friendly spaces like Armstrong Park, the riverfront Woldenberg Park and the French Quarter, where you can easily burn off those po-boys, muffalettas, and go-cup cocktails. Several nearby gyms also offer day passes to visitors, including the lovely New Orleans Athletic Club just a few blocks away.

Do you serve breakfast?

Unfortunately, we do not serve breakfast. However, we offer every guest a welcome package with a map of local and nearby favorite spots, as well as discount coupons for great places to go for breakfast within easy walking distance of Jazz Quarters.

Handicap accessibility is limited on our historic property. Please call us if you have any questions about accommodating personal needs—our guests’ satisfaction is a top priority and we will do everything within our ability to make your stay safe and comfortable.

Can you recommend a good restaurant nearby?

You’re joking, right? This is New Orleans! All of our guests receive a welcome package with a map of great, nearby restaurants. We love nothing more than talking food and introducing our guests to the incredible variety of restaurants (2,800 and counting!) in New Orleans, from historic fine dining restaurants to local-favorite neighborhood spots.

As a small, independent local business, we are not able to give the same discounts offered by major hotel chains.

Is there a discount for booking the entire property?

Can we book Jazz Quarters for an event?

Although we occasionally host small special events (such as intimate wedding ceremonies, photography shoots, family portraits, etc.), there are many variables that go into deciding whether or not we can accommodate an event. To find out if we can host your event, please contact us with specific details about your event—the date, number of guests, type of event, length of event, etc.

Do you have a meeting room?

Although our historic property does not have a typical meeting room, several of our cottages have very spacious living rooms that can accommodate small, informal meetings. Depending on availability and the type of meeting, we may also find other unique ways to accommodate a meeting on our property for guests. To find out if we can host your meeting, please contact us and provide specific details—the date, number of attendees, type/duration of meeting, etc.

Can we book Jazz Fest for a wedding? Does Jazz Quarters offer a wedding/elopement packages?

We may be able to accommodate an intimate wedding ceremony, based on availability. For such a one-of-a-kind occasion, we’d like to spend some time discussing your wedding plans with you to ensure Jazz Quarters is the best fit for this special day. Although we do not offer general wedding or elopement packages, we may be able to create a custom wedding package for your wedding day and stay. Keep in mind: Jazz Quarters is an ideal hotel option for wedding guests, family, and the bride and groom! Our property can accommodate up to 26 guests, offering brides and grooms both proximity to the wedding party and privacy in one of our romantic cottages (Armstrong) or suites (Mayfield, Bolden).

Is the neighborhood around Jazz Quarters safe?

Our entire property, including parking lot, is secured behind a locked, passcode-protected gate and fence. No one can enter the property without a key to our pedestrian gate or the gate code. We are located in Treme, an historic, residential neighborhood steps from the French Quarter. As much as we love our location and do not worry for our own safety, we also know that safety is often a matter of staying aware of your surroundings at all times. We encourage guests to enjoy our city to its fullest, but use good common sense and personal safety precaution while exploring our city. If you’ve enjoyed a drinks and plan to stay out past midnight, for everyone’s peace of mind and safety, take a cab back to Jazz Quarters when you call it a night.

Do we need a car to get around New Orleans?

We’ll answer that question with a question. You’re on vacation, you’re here to relax and enjoy—do you really want to waste time (and money) driving around finding parking? Because you certainly don’t need a car when you’re visiting New Orleans. Jazz Quarters is located in Treme, literally across the street from the French Quarter, within easy walking, biking, or cab ride distance of St. Louis Cathedral, Woldenberg Park on the Mississippi River, Bourbon Street, and other popular New Orleans destinations. The Marigny, Frenchmen Street, the Warehouse District and Central Business District—prime areas for restaurants, music, and nightlife—are also within walking/biking/cab distance. The new Rampart Street streetcar line is steps away from our property, and connects to other lines that run St. Charles Avenue or Canal Street to City Park and cemeteries. (Buy a $3 1-day Jazzy Pass to get around town via streetcar or bus). Catching a taxi, Uber, or Lyft in New Orleans is a breeze. And, if you want to hit a swamp or plantation tour outside the city, our innkeepers can arrange a tour, including all transportation.

Do you offer room service?

No.

Is my ID or passport required at check-in?

Photo identification is required only in advance for guests who are checking in late.
Please note! All rooms are non-smoking, and we prefer guests refrain from smoking on the property. If you do smoke on the premises, please be very careful about how and where you dispose of cigarettes. Our property is home to 200+ year-old (flammable) buildings, and we’d like to keep ‘em around for another 200.
